Privacy policy
This policy describes how Southwind Consulting (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use southwindtelco.com (the “site”). It is a draft suitable for an early static marketing site; we will refine it if counsel reviews our posture. We do not operate a custom backend or database for this site in version 1, and we do not use analytics cookies or trackers on the site in version 1.

Who we are
The site is operated by Southwind Consulting as a business brand. For data protection enquiries relating to information you submit through the site, please use our contact form (also linked from Contact in the site navigation) so we can respond without publishing a mailbox on these pages.
What the site is
The site is mostly static content (pages and assets) delivered over the internet. It is hosted on a mainstream application hosting platform (for example Vercel) and served through our DNS configuration (for example via Cloudflare). That infrastructure may process technical data automatically so the site can load securely and reliably.
Information we process
Depending on how you use the site, this may include:
- Contact form submissions. If you send a message through the site’s contact form, the fields you complete (such as name, company, work email, role, and message) are transmitted to a form service provider (for example Formspree, Basin, or a similar vendor) using an endpoint configured in our deployment environment. The provider delivers the submission to us and may apply spam controls supported by their product.
- Scheduling via Calendly. Where we link to Calendly (for example using “Book a call”), that opens Calendly in a new browser tab. Calendly processes personal data under its own terms and privacy notice when you interact with it. We do not embed Calendly on our pages in version 1.
- Technical and security data. Our hosting and DNS providers typically process data such as IP addresses, request metadata, timestamps, and basic device or browser signals to operate the service, mitigate abuse, and maintain certificates and performance. The exact fields depend on the vendor and your network path.
- Optional imagery. If we publish photos or diagrams, your browser will fetch those files like any other asset. That may generate standard server logs at the edge.
Why we use this data
We use personal data for purposes that match operating a small consultancy website:
- responding to enquiries you choose to send;
- making it possible to schedule a call when you choose Calendly;
- operating, securing, and improving the site; and
- meeting legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations where they apply.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use advertising or analytics pixels on the site in version 1.
Legal bases (UK GDPR)
Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate bases such as: contract (steps before a contract when you ask us to respond), legitimate interests in operating a professional website and securing our services, and consent where we ask for it (for example for non-essential cookies where required — see our Cookie policy ).
Processors and third parties
We use service providers to deliver the site and forms, including:
- static hosting and related edge functions;
- DNS and security services; and
- a form submission provider configured via environment variables.
Calendly is a separate service you explicitly navigate to. We do not control their processing, but we choose to link to them only in a new tab to keep cookie and embed complexity lower at launch.
International transfers
Our vendors may process data in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, the United States, and other regions where they operate. We expect providers to use appropriate safeguards where transfers apply, but details are governed by their documentation.
Retention
We keep contact enquiries only as long as needed to respond, manage follow-up, and maintain business records. Hosting logs are retained for short operational periods defined by the platform unless a longer period is required for security investigations.
Security
We use HTTPS, reputable hosting, and configuration hygiene to reduce risk. No online service can be perfect; if you believe you have found a security issue, please tell us through the contact form.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights relating to information sent through this site, contact us via the contact form.
Cookies
We explain cookies and similar technologies in our Cookie policy . Version 1 does not use analytics cookies on the site.
Children
The site is aimed at business visitors. It is not intended for children.
Changes
We may update this policy when our site, vendors, or legal obligations change. The “last updated” date at the top will move when we publish a revision that matters.
